Is it okay to get microneedling when you have fillers?

Question

In February I had Restylane lyft in February and I had Voluma injected into my cheeks almost two weeks ago. Would it be okay to get microneedling or would that cause the fillers to dissipate? Any information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Great question. Its totally safe to do microneedling after fillers but I recommend giving enough time to let all the swelling and bruising to settle down if any.

Yes, you can have microneedling with fillers. I always combine microneedling with prp and lasers to get the best outcomes. We do treatments every 3-6 weeks. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. It is fine to get a microneedling treatment after fillers once the fillers have completely settled. We typically recommend waiting at least 3 weeks after filler treatments to receive a microneedling treatment.

Hello!  Yes, you are able to have microneedling treatments after receiving dermal fillers.  For best results, I advise my patients to wait three weeks after the filler injections to allow time for the skin to heal and any inflammation to go down; since microneedling creates tiny micro channels to stimulate collagen growth this can provide an additional boost to the lift already provided by the filler.
