I have had treatments with 1.5 mm needles. I havent seen the results I want.
Answer: Microneedling Scars Hi there, thanks for asking this. Microneedling can only go so deep and scars on sensitive areas such as the forehead can take several treatments. Vitamins A & C make a huge difference when combined with microneedling or other Skin renewal therapies. Consider other options for faster results such as fractional laser, CO2. Good luck!

Answer: Improving scars with lasers (Yellow, Excel V, Co2), Subcision For dramatic/optimal improvement a combination method treatment plan is imperative. This scar can be improved with a vascular laser like yellow laser or excel v and co2 spot treatment, fillers, microneedling/prp and subcision to help with texture and blending. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Microneedling for scars Thanks for asking this question. It requires several treatments with microneedling to see significant improvement in scars. Most Physicians wil start with needles going upto 1.0 mm depth on the face and we go up by few mm each subsequent treatment. We use less depth in sensitive areas around eyes lips and forehead. There are several pens in the market but I would recommend doing microneedling with Skin pen as its the only FDA approved pen. I have seen better results with Skin pen compared to other pens but scarring is a tough condition and requires patience and several treatments. The scar does look better in the pictures that you posted. Good luck!

Answer: Is the scar bound down? It is not the microneedling method, its finding what the scar is doing. Is it bound down, if so, subcsion is the treatment of choice. The very first step is scar assessment by a Board Certified Plastics or Dermatologist. If it is bound down, vertical manipulation of the scar will not do anything, its horizontal vector delivery of the needles that will work. See an expert near you to assess your scar type, then go from there. Surgical intervention with subcision of surgery with elevation maybe needed, followed by fully ablative lasers.
