Could my fever be connected to lip injections?

I got lip injections yesterday. Today I have a fever 38 Celsius. I don’t bruise and have minimal swelling. I have history of herpes on my lips. Is the fever connected to lip fillers?

It's unlikely that a filler treatment yesterday is related to development of a fever today.  It is likely a coincidence.  Follow up with your primary care physician if symptoms persist or worsen for an evaluation.  In the future you may want to consider taking Valtrex prior to lip injections to prevent herpes outbreak.

That would be a minor reaction. But it’s extremely rare to have a fever after lip injections. Consult a doctor to discuss your situation in full.

Thankyou for your question. Its unlikely the fever has anything to do with the lip filler . If you had a cold sore flare up then yes related to the trauma of the needles causing a flareup.Good luck and feel better

It is unlikely that your fever is connected to the lip augmentation, but in patients who have herpes, it may indicate that the herpes is coming or has broken out. if you have medication to treat your herpes, you may prophylactically start taking it.
