Can my inherited glabella lines be treated? I am tired of people saying I look permanently upset, even when I am happy? (Photo)

Botox can be used to relax the glabellar muscles so that they will no longer reinforce your frown lines. Without the pressure from the muscles, the skin gets to relax and smooth out. Because you've had these lines for many decades, they are deeply etched and will probably need to be filled in with Juvederm or another hyaluronic-acid based filler like Restylane or Belatero. The filler will last at least a year or more. The Botox will need to be re-administered every three to four months. These two treatments together will make a big difference in your expression and how you are perceived. For deep lines in the glabellar area (between the eyebrows) Botox is the first move.  Two weeks later, after it has taken effect and minimized the muscle movement that causes the wrinkling I assess the area.  If lines are etched in and still objectionable then a very cautious injection of a thin filler into the skin of the wrinkles (not deeper than the skin) usually does the trick.  An alternative is laser resurfacing which will soften lines (Botox, still the first the first move though).

Thank you for your question and supporting photo.  You seem to be a good candidate for Botox injections.  Botox is used to smooth the deep, persistent facial lines between the eyebrows, frown lines, crow's feet, horizontal lines across the foreheard, worry lines around the mouth and lines on the neck.  This will relax the muscles that cause the wrinkles, thus smoothing the line that makes you look angry or tired.  You will have a more youthful and rejuvenated look.
