What causes Juvederm not to work? (Photo)

Question

I received Juvederm in lips about one month ago. At first I had a large bump come up on bottom lip. My doctor advised I had scar tissue so he had to inject up to two syringes. The bump has finally gotten better since the last follow up I seen him. He massaged it, but now it looks like I didn't receive any Juvederm. This is second time I've received Juvederm, and didn't last. The first time was in areas by nose down to mouth. What could be causing this?

If I saw that after a Juvederm injection the result was not a long-lasting one, I.e. at least 6 months, I would have switched you to a different product such as Restylane, Restylane Lyft or similar. These product can last quite a bit longer in people in whom Juvederm resorbed quickly.

It may take some experimenting to find the right filler for you.  The juvederm is likely still there but it blends in with your natural tissue after a while.  Don't put too much in at once..you can end up with lumps and bumps, or worse end up damaging the blood supply to the lips.  Try a different filler next time (Restylane Silk is nice for lips) and you may just be someone who needs to have it done more often.  Best wishes.
