Wearing clean/product free wig during rhinoplasty?

During rhinoplasty surgery, there is a small amount of bleeding that can sometimes go from the nose back on to the hair of the temples. This is easily cleaned after surgery, however, if you are wearing a wig, this may be a difficult predicament. Additionally, I am not sure if there are protocols regarding wearing a wig into the operating room. That regard, I believe this decision would depend upon the discretion of your surgeon and the director of nursing at the facility where you would have your surgery. Hello and thank you for your question. This should not be a problem and a sterile operative head cover can be placed over it. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

My main concern would be getting blood on the wig and damaging it. However I think most plastic surgeons would not care if you kept the wig on

I think it’s unlikely that a surgeon, the nursing staff, anesthesiologist or the Surgery Center would recommend wearing a wig during rhinoplasty surgery.
We usually have patients not wear make up and remove all jewelry.
Medical professionals typically are nonjudgmental regarding people with medical conditions.
You should feel safe going into surgery With alopecia or any condition that hinders you looking your best guy
You can probably wear a wig as you enter the facility, but before being brought into the operating room, you will probably be asked to remove it.
I recommend you bring up your concerns with your surgeon before the procedure date.
