Either way, you will be happy with the result. Usually a weak chin is overlooked and people don't understand how much of a change a chin implant or genioplasty can make. Most of the time it gives a good improvement without making it look like too much is done on the face. Your face will be more balanced with your nice facial futures. It can give you the balance you want between your nose, lip and chin.

The cheek and chin need to be balanced. If you have a perception of a "large nose" it is very common that your nose is fine, but the chin is too set back. If you look up something called the "E-line" it will make sense, or take a look at our blog in about a week as it will be talking about this. The E-line is a line from the chin to the nose. Your upper lip should fall 4-6mm behind this line, your lower lip 2-4mm behind the line. As you look at your chin, it sits too far back creating the deep fold in the lower lip and the optical illusion of the nose being larger in proportion. If you were to do a genioplasty, this would allow for repositioning of the chin about 8-10mm forward, it would bring it into balance, soften the fold, support your lower lip, and give better harmony in your profile. A chin implant is another option, but I would recommend the genioplasty for a couple of reasons...it is harder to reposition the fold of the lower lip and it often widens the jawline as well, which you do not need.
