Unfavourable scarring and mouth 6 months after facelift. What can be done to improve my problems? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. There are a couple of options for the widened and raised scars. First, we usually wait to do any sort of scar revision until you are a year out from surgery; this gives the scars the opportunity to fully mature and sometimes they do improve on their own. Another option is to inject steroid into the scars and perform manual massage. An in-person examination would be needed to determine if anything could be done to improve your lower face based on your goals. Best of luck!

Hello, sorry to hear that you are disappointed with some lingering issues after your lift. The scarring around the ear can be addressed through different procedures, including kenalog injections and Co2 laser resurfacing. These can help soften the scar. For the mouth area, it looks like you have lost a lot of volume. Face lifts do not address volume loss, they just tighten the skin and underlying structures. You could try a volume treatment with filler and threads to improve the the areas around your mouth and chin.

You could ask your Plastic Surgeon if he could inject Kenalog into the raised scars that can help to soften them and flatten out so they will not be raised anymore.

For the scarring behind the ear I would recommend medical needling, you can do a combination with Laser as well. For the perioral area you need additional treatments for the skin and soft tissue as well. My suggestion again, a series of medical needling together with maybe PRP, soft tissue fillers like hyaluronic acid or biostimulators like Calcium-Hydroxylapatit. Middle depth peeling can work as well.
