Sculptra and keloids

Keloids form when the healing is impaired by skin stretching. Keloids on the shoulder skin form very very commonly as the shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body and the skin is constantly moving, causing stress and stretching on the skin that is healing leading to keloid formation. I have been injecting Sculptra for 9 years, I have injected over 15,000 vials to date of Sculptra and have not had any incidence of keloid formation on the face or the body. There is no guarantee anyone can give you to say there will be no keloids, but when choosing a provider ask them if they are familiar and comfortable managing the keloids . Given your history of keloids on the shoulders but none on your face or earlobes, I think it would be fine for you to have Sculptra treatment on the face. I would not expect you to have any problems from the procedure.
