Yes, it is generally safe to receive Botox injections on your forehead while taking Levothyroxine 50 mcg. Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone replacement medication used to treat hypothyroidism and does not interact negatively with botulinum toxin (Botox). There is no known contraindication between Botox and thyroid hormone therapy, and having an underactive thyroid controlled by medication does not increase the risks of Botox-related side effects. However, it’s always important to ensure your thyroid levels are well managed and to inform your injector of all medications you’re taking. As always, Botox should be administered by a qualified and experienced provider to minimize the risk of complications such as bruising, asymmetry, or ptosis (drooping of the eyelid or brow).
It is safe to have Botox while taking Levothyroxine. Botox does not interact with thyroid medications. There’s no need for concern. However, I would recommend you to inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are currently taking.
Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. Yes, it is generally safe to receive Botox injections in the forehead while taking Levothyroxine, a medication commonly prescribed for thyroid hormone replacement. Botox, or botulinum toxin, works locally in the muscles where it is injected and does not interact with thyroid medications in a way that would cause concern. However, it's always important to inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, including Levothyroxine, to ensure they are aware of your complete medical history. I hope this helps and best of luck!
Botox can be used safely in patients with numerous prior medical conditions. Hypothyroidism is not a contraindication for Botox use and can be used safely in the vast majority of patients. In general neuromuscular weakness conditions or spastic conditions such as synkinesis are more diagnostically challenging and nuanced use of Botox in those case is more limited. Trust your face to a craniofacial surgeon!

I’m sorry to hear that you had this response. I would first wait until the Botox has completely worn off before doing anything else. The migration should not be more likely a second time because it occurred the first time. As for the muscles “thinking its the new normal” - like all muscles they ...
A horizontal line above the upper lip—sometimes referred to as a “second smile line”—can be due to a combination of skin elasticity loss, repetitive muscle movement, and volume changes in the surrounding tissue. If Botox did not improve the appearance, it may be that the line is more static ...
Botox can relax the muscles responsible for chronic frowning, which helps smooth dynamic vertical forehead lines. However, if the dents are deep and present even when your face is at rest (static lines), Botox alone may not fully erase them. In such cases, combining Botox with dermal fillers or...
You may find improvement to these spider veins by having laser treatments. Because these small vessels are under pressure, it may take multiple sessions for resolution. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon or experienced aesthetician to learn more.
I'm sorry that you've had issues with styes after previous Botox treatments. While there is no direct correlation between the two, the effects from Botox could make you more prone based on the injection locations and your history. The further you inject from your eyes the less likely you are...
