Instead, this appearance is often related to the underlying bone and muscle structure, specifically, a relatively recessed or small chin, sometimes influenced by factors like childhood mouth breathing, as you mentioned.

For someone young and lean like you, the main options are:

Chin augmentation (implant or filler): Enhancing the projection of the chin can create a stronger side profile and a more defined angle between the chin and neck. Even small changes here can make a big difference in definition.

Submental liposuction (rarely needed in your case): Since you don’t appear to have much fat under the chin, this is less likely to be beneficial.

Neck muscle tightening (platysmaplasty): Usually reserved for older patients with true banding or muscle laxity, so it doesn’t seem necessary for you right now.

In your situation, chin augmentation, whether surgical with an implant or temporary with fillers, would likely give the most noticeable and natural improvement. This would help sharpen the transition from chin to neck and balance your overall profile.

Issues related to the lower third of the face are therefore related to the shape and size of the mandible.

I don’t think your facial aesthetics have anything to do with mouth breathing.
