Hello I have had a lower Blepharoplasty and experiencing droopy eyes in both eyes but more so on the right eye. Will this go? Can any one diagnose what it is? What is the percentage of chance that it will go naturally? I feel more depressed then prior to the Surgeory as it looks obvious I’ve had surgery but now it looks botched. Can you also give me advice on what I can do at home without having corrective Surgeory to make it improve if possible? Or what would be the best option to go for?

Answer: Post Blepharoplasty Eyelid Droop This condition can occur after a blepharoplasty, and is not neccessarily due to the surgeon. There can be clot in the muscle, bruises on the nerves, and just residual swelling. Early treatments consist of taping, message, in jection of 5 FU, steroids(I am not a fan as it can thin the muscle) and ultimately and canthal procedure to pull up the lower eyelid. So it can changed, and treatment will depend upon how far out from the surgery. regards. Cap Lesesne,MD

Answer: POST BLEPHAROPLASTY ECTROPION This looks like an ectropion most likely post transcutaneous blepharoplasty. If it has been one month since surgery you can start doing some eye exercises like massaging in upward direction and opening and closing eyes tightly. However, in all likelihood you will need corrective surgery called canthopexy or canthoplasty.
