Outer thighs no difference after liposuction. What can be done? (Photo)

looks like they did much more than your outer thighs which could have been improved with non surgical options or micro liposuction. that area does best adding bodytite. regardless, now you have indentations, irregularities that need fat grafting. see an expert in revision (which is what we do daily in my practice). that was just bad work done. Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos and the preop markings by your surgeon, the results were expected. His/her markings are wrong. This is a common mistake I see in my practice from patients who had liposuction elsewhere. Your markings do not follow the normal buttock anatomy, but it transects it creating the deep depressions created by the surgery. The banana roll was over suctioned creating a droopy buttock in the side view photo. Although you still have some excess fat on the left side, but with the over suctioned areas above it, your surgeon transformed a more feminine buttock into a more masculine shape. The surgeon has to follow his/her markings placed on the patient in a standing position and abide by them during surgery. If the markings are not placed correctly, this is what you get. Lack of understand of the beautiful normal by the surgeon, cannot expect him/her to recreate it! Unfortunately, you will need further corrective surgery (not a touch up!) and hopefully not from your original surgeon. Luckily, you have enough fat superior to the buttock on the back and most likely on the abdomen to collect fat and reshape your torso into a more hourglass figure with the fat grafted back into the buttocks with some liposuction for shaping. These are more advanced procedures as opposed to the fat reduction liposuction that you got.

That's actually a VERY good result with liposuction to me and looks dramatically improved. I would suggest you not consider revision surgery as you look very good overall following the procedure

Liposuction of the back part of the outer thighs(posterior lateral) tends to not give as much results as patients had hoped for. That part is often related to skin laxity from gravity, loss of skin elasticities with age and the fact that the hips are in full extension. with full hip flexion the skin is put under tension and the contour often improves as it does if you pull up fairly assertively on the skin above the area of concern.

The contour simply doesn’t go in from just removing fat.

This is also true for upper inner thigh Liposuction.

The results you obtained are probably about as good as anyone can deliver considering that this area simply doesn’t respond well to liposuction.

True saddlebags do very well with Liposuction because they are” true lateral” and are not influenced by movement in the hip joints. When the bulge is posterior lateral then this usually represents part skin bulging especially if it became worse with age.

The indentation is a different matter and that you need to discuss with your surgeon. i’m assuming you were awake while they did the drawings on your body which shows Liposuction is being done fairly high.

Overall the liposuction result is actually quite good considering how difficult this area can be in people with even slight skin laxity.

Thigh liposuction is tricky. There are individuals who are candidates for having impressive results and it may not seem obvious to laypeople why some people should get such impressive results while others fail to get the change they had hoped for.

Simply removing fat does not always create the contour people had imagined because fat is not the only thing that contributes to contour.
