hello, i was wondering if it’s possible to ‘fix’ my tuberous breasts by just fixing the nipple herniarion to receive a more ‘acceptable’ outcome without implants as i would rather not have implants and am not suitable for fat transfer i realise results won’t be perfect but anything better than this is tolerable for me
Answer: Mini lift with fat transfers The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Will fixing nipple herniation be sufficient for tuberous breast correction? Yes! Excellent question. There are several issues we need to take into account when dealing with tubular breast. So, fixing the nipple will not fix your high breast fold, nor will it fix the volume issue on your lower pole, but it will definitely give you a good outcome. It will help give you a nicer shape and, because we would be using a peri-areolar or circumferential incision, it will help with breast and areola symmetry. A small reduction on the larger breast would also be necessary for symmetry. Best of luck, Dr. Miguel Mota

Answer: Surgical options for tubular breasts Hello and thank you for your question and pictures! Tubular breasts range in severity. There are simple outpatient maneuvers that can be done to improve the shape. Breast implants would also benefit you. A breast lift can be done with breast augmentation so that the breasts can be more youthful looking. The breast lift/mastopexy addresses the sagginess of the breast by removing excess skin and the breast augmentation will have volume to the breast. There are several different types of lifting including many lifts that do not have many scars. This does not necessarily mean that you need lifting though as it depends what size breast implant you want and your examination, so it is not always needed. I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and has plenty of experience in breast augmentation & lifting surgery. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. If it does, please take a moment to up vote this answer on the “respond” button on the top right.

Answer: Tuberous breasts There are many varieties of tuberous breasts which will require different form of treatment. In your case, areola asymmetry and nipple protrusion seem to be moderate. If you desire minimal surgery, reduction of the larger areola, including correction of herniation and shaping of the lower pole to expeand the breast tissue, may all be done in local anesthesia. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in tuberous breasts treatment, is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Tuberous breasts While you do not want implants, you would be a great candidate for them to round out your breasts and alleviate much of the tuberous appearance. You would not require large implants to achieve this shape. I do not feel that doing a nipple or areola procedure would be of benefit. Best wishes, Dr. Taranow
