If placed correctly, there really should be no route for deep pyriform filler to migrate to the nose. The deep pyriform filler actually ends up (should end up) in the deep medial cheek compartment, which is a fat compartment with distinct anatomic boundaries. Furthermore, the fillers you want to use here are thicker, cohesive, high G' fillers which tend to stay in one place. While not a hard injection to perform, this is a more conceptually advanced place to put filler and there are some key points to doing it safely, so make sure you go to an experienced injector who has done this injection many times before.
Hi Eliza! Dr. Joseph here out of Beverly Hills, CA. Typically, filler injected in to the pyriform area at the base of the nose/nostrils is injected quite deep right onto the bone. Therefore, it is quite unlikely that the filler would migrate from this area onto the supratip or the dorsum. However, any filler injection may cause swelling in the area, so it would be possible that the tip/supratip/dorsum of the nose may swell in response to this particular injection. I hope this helps! All my best.
It would be unlikely that the filler would migrate as you have described. You may be noticing swelling in these areas as a result of treatment. If so, this should resolve. I encourage you to visit with your injector to evaluate your concerns.
On MRI studies so far, there is no scientific evidence that filler migrates from compartment from compartment. So unless it was placed there, or squired that far AT THE TIME of the injection, no evidence that it could travel distances as you may be suggesting. It flattens and disperses a little over time. No significant movement away from injection site.
Hi there! Filler can migrate depending on placement and the amount injected. If done laterally around the nose, it is possible that there could be swelling secondary to its placement at the supratip and tip Options for improvement include time, compressing the areas, steroid injection, or dissolving the filler. If it's been recently placed, I would give it 3-4 weeks before making a decision. Best of luck!
Hi @infinitemeridian! A few units of botox can help with the wrinkles you experience with smiling. I also recommend a co2 laser to help tighten the skill.
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry...
A combination approach would give the most improvement. Deep wrinkles and smile lines can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works...
