Blanching after lip fillers - is this normal? (photos)

Hi, I had my lip injections topped up in August, so it has been a couple of months. While I had some lumps for a longer while than usual, those have subsided, but I noticed that the colouration of my lips has changed after the fillers - my bottom lip is quite dark in the middle part and paler on the outside. Is this a matter of concern or just something to do with the placement of the filler? Thank you

Based on your photos and your post, I do not think you have anything to worry about. You are pretty far out from when you had your lip filler done. The changes to the color you are seeing are most likely due to the placement of filler. Once again I do not think you need to be concerned at this time.

Most likely your experience the Tyndall affect. This can happen when each a fillers which are clear are placed superficially close to the skin surface. The filler acts like a prism and distorts the light rays giving a gray blue hue to the lip. 
It should go away as the filler disappears or it can also be treated by reversing the fillers.
It’s a little hard to make an accurate assessment without an examination but what you described sounds very typical for the Tyndall affect.
Providers should be careful injecting fillers to close to the skin surface.
Lumpiness is also generally an undesirable outcome from fillers.
It’s more likely to happen when fillers do you multiple injections using the short needle that comes with the filler kits. personally I use a long needle that’s 1 1/4 inch. This allows me to inject the entire lip from the commissure injecting single long even beads of filler in each quadrant of the lips.
The needles that, with fillers are generally 3/4 of an inch and this is too short to inject the length of the lift from the midline to the commissure in a single injection.
I may be wrong and the rest of my post is just my opinion.
Follow up with your provider we should be able to recognize the Tyndall affect and should be aware of it.
