Hi from Istanbul! Your concern is entirely fixable, but a different method is employed. The most efficient way is through a technique called suture shaping, where sutures help narrow the tip and create better tip definition. Some extra cartilage may be used to enhance your nasal bridge and give projection; these are quite common steps in ethnic rhinoplasty procedures to create a proportional and refined nose. The use of extra cartilage will improve the retracted appearance as well. Please share some pictures or consult in-person with a surgeon experienced in ethnic rhinoplasty for more specific recommendations regarding your case. Best of luck!
African american rhinoplasty typically involves 4 different components. Some patients need them all, some only one or two. Here are the 4 components.1. Improvement of the bridge height with an implant.2. Narrowing of the wide upper nose (bony part) with osteotomies.3. Narrowing of the tip (Tip-plasty)4. Narrowing of the nostrils (Alarplasty)RegardsDr. J
Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. However, the alar flare is not corrected by cartilage transfer but alar retraction is. I would need photographs to give you a more accurate answer.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Seek consultation with an American Board of Plastic Surgery board certified plastic surgeon for an examination and discussion of your concerns and options. Good luck!

Surgeons should always work with patients to give them the best outcome, which means providing services based on what the client wants. If you speak with a surgeon who is unwilling to do so or make any compromises, I would look elsewhere. If you are able to find a surgeon you are comfortable...
If a small piece of skin was buried while your incision was closed, a painful inclusion cyst can ensue. If this is the case, it should be an office procedure to improve it. I would recommend visiting your surgeon or another reputable rhinoplasty specialist for evaluation and management. I hope...
