HELP ME. Tear trough filler has made my whole face sag! What can I do?

Question

I'm 22 & have good skin quality. I was blessed with big full cheeks but I had a mild tear trough. I had 0.3ml injected & loved the result (1st photo). Dr said I needed more & added another 0.5ml (2nd photo). It has aged my face 20 years!! My lower lid skin looks like it's being pulled down, lower face heavier, cheeks feel flat to touch and I feel bone where I used to feel fat, and my favourite feature my cheeks are FLAT and DROOPING. What do I do please help I'm so scared, why did this happen?!

I suspect your photos do not demonstrate your concerns very well - your face does not appear drooping after your second treatment. Consider re-asking your question with better photographs. And don't forget that HA may be dissolved. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your filler treatment.  I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your injector.  If it has not yet been two weeks since your second treatment you may wish to give it more time as you may have some swelling.  Depending on the filler used, the product will dissolve naturally over approximately one year.  If HA fillers were used you can elect to have them dissolved with hyaluronidase.

Unfortunately this filler cannot be dissolved with Vitrase / hyaluronidase. A combination of fractional laser or radiofrequency, Venus Legacy treatments, and 5FU/steroid injections could help with the lump. Otherwise, aside from waiting to see if it goes away, the only other permanent option is surgical removal. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer.

Dear Madam,Sorry to hear that you are not happy with the result of the second treatment performed by the same doctor. I trust that he used HA filler which will dissolve with time and I think the best course of action is to be patient and have no more injections into the Tear Trough and I do not think you need consider dissolving the filler for the time being.
