1 year down and still in lots of pain: do I need revision surgery on my breast implant replacement surgery? (photos)

Hello! Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you still experience pain and discomfort so long after the surgery. If currently there is no serious capsular contracture or breast tumor issues and pain is the only symptom, I advise you to wait a little more. Pain alone doesn’t mean that there is any major disorder. If the pain doesn’t subside in a few months, you need to consider total capsulectomy and exchange of implants or explantation.

We never like to see continuing pain because it usually means something is wrong- have you asked your surgeon to get an ultrasound or CT scan to better determine what might be going on?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You did not say when you had your surgery, but it will take up to a year to heal. You do have large breasts and would do better with smaller implants. You might even do better removing the implants and doing a lift.
