Hi, Is it possible/beneficial to use an anti inflammatory cream on the tip of the nose to reduce swelling? I know people have anti inflammatory injections after rhinoplasty but I was Wondering if a cream could help also.. For example ibprofen In cream form. Many thanks

There is no merit in using such creams to reduce swelling.  Time is the best remedy for post surgical swelling.

I have never heard of ibuprofen creams helping to decrease post-surgical swelling. Arnica pills might help, but time is the best healer of wounds. Sometimes it is difficult, but patience is key while you await your final results after rhinoplasty.

I do not recommend the use of any topical anti-inflammatory creams or agents on the nasal skin after rhinoplasty. Steroid injections or Medrol Dose packs taken orally may have some initial benefits and are often prescribed. Please consult with your surgeon before applying anything at all to your nose after surgery. Clean, healthy skin can breathe and promote a good recovery. I would also avoid facials, retin-A and exfoliating the skin with peels or by microdermabrasion in the early stages of healing. Hope this answer helps.
