If at 11 weeks you still have a seroma, a visible pocket of fluid that moves when tapped you may need drainage of the seroma. Typically seromas are aspirated at least weekly and usually cc after the first 3-4 weeks. Seromas lasting 11 weeks are at risk for forming a seroma cavity which can create a firm visible lump on the abdomen. If you still have a seroma you should be examined by your plastic surgeon and discuss possible surgical drainage and or excision of the seroma cavity.
It is my experience that open wounds prolong the swelling after any surgery, tummy tuck included.Have your surgeon see you however as fluid located to a specific area above the belly button may be a seroma (fluid collection).
