The Brazilian Butt Lift, or Fat Augmentation of the Buttocks has become a very popular procedure and can produce dramatic and lasting results. It is important to understand that with the Brazilian Butt Lift, half of the results come from the liposculpting of the body which can dramatically improve the shape by removing fat from unwanted areas and accentuating curves and shape. The harvested fat is next added to the buttocks to further enhance the size, shape and projection. Technique and experience are very important for both the liposculpture procedure and the harvesting, handling, preparation and injection of the fat. Too little sculpting will reduce curves, shape and result. Too much liposuction or fat removal can also produce undesired results, poor shapes or deformity. Proper techniques in liposculpting, harvesting, preparation and injection will produce the best results and fat survival. In the best hands, fat survival is thought to range from about 50 to 80%. Understand that over the years, a persons weight, fat content and distribution will tend to change, which certainly can alter results over time.
Thank you for your question, the Brazilian butt lift is a permanent procedure, a plastic surgeon reshapes your body doing liposuction in all the patients troubled areas and transfers that fat to buttocks and hips. However if after having the procedure you loose a lot o weight, loosing fat will mean loosing fat in the buttocks as well.Good Luck.Salvador Pantoja M.D.
Most of the fat transferred in a fat transfer procedure survives (60% or more). This is highly dependent upon technique and the depth of injection. Consult with a few experienced plastic surgeons.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
There is an initial loss phase of up to 50%, but the remainder lives and is permanent. Find an expert in BBLs who has great reviews and before and after galleries.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. After a BBL, about 70% of the transferred fat cells will survive, but this should last permanently, with exercise and a clean diet. Lifting, squats and lunges after a BBL will only help increase muscle bulk and definition and achieve a more projected buttocks. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Good luck :)
The BBL procedure involves harvest fat from areas of your body where there is excess fat and injecting that fat carefully into the central zone of your buttock. It can lead to long lasting results. I would say depending on the technique utilized, about 60-80% of the fat transferred lasts long-term. The common donor sites for this procedure is your posterior waist/flanks, lateral thighs, back, waist, and anterior tummy. Please visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn more about your options.
I have had great success with brazilian butt lifts, and have found that about 70% and maybe more of the fat I place remains intact in the buttock.
Some patients experience prolonged pain and swelling of the back due to the aggressive suction that is performed in this area to improve shape. Compression and massage do help to alleviate the symptoms. It will get better over the next few weeks to months. Discuss this matter...
Unfortunately not. Fat cells have markers on them that would tell the body that your family members fat cells are foreign. Your immune system would reject them. It would only work if you use the fat from an identical twin theoretically. Some people can gain enough weight...
Hi and thanks for your question. I usually recommend 10 sessions. We accomodate many patients from other areas of the country and internationally. I understand that not everyone can remain in Miami for that period of time. I recommend that they follow up at home with someone knowledgeable...
