Can you use antibacterial cream like savlon on dermal filler injection sites?

Dear Kellamay,  Your concern brings to mind the questions- "Why?" and "What are you trying to achieve?" Use of Savlon or other similar "antibacterial" soaps are neither recommended nor discouraged when dealing with a needle puncture site that is caused during the administration of a dermal filler. Your skin was cleansed prior to the injection, the product injected comes sterile in the syringe, and your body is capable of amazing and virtually scar free healing as a result of the treatment. Swelling can occur from the physical reaction due to the needle injection or from an almost expected reaction to the injected product.  A needle puncture mark or bruise can also occur but in all likelihood will resolve no matter what you wash your face with.  Bruises will not get better with a topical antibiotic unless infection is part of the reason for the reaction. Give it another day or two and there should not be any more visible needle punctures visible.  If you still have a concern, talk with your plastic surgeon.
