How soon after surgery can I ride my push bike? (Road riding and mountain biking)

Usually 1 week after #gynecomastia surgery you can begin taking moderate walks or ride a stationary bike. Strenuous workouts or aerobic #exercise can begin around 4 weeks post-op. Please get approval from your doctor before you begin any workout regimen.

Every doc has their own protocol.  I tell patients to wait 2 weeks before strenuous exercise.  And to stay wrapped.  Increased blood pressure and heart rate may promote fluid accumulation.  However, best to ask your doc since he or she may have their own instructions.

If the gynecomastia can be treated by liposuction alone I allow my patients to return to full activity as soon as they feel comfortable. If excision is required they are asked to refrain for about two weeks to make certain the dead space created by the excision is totally obliterated.

I have my patients wait 4 to 6 weeks before returning to formal exercise to avoid complications. However, this is something you need to review with your surgeon who knows you best. Good luck!

Gynecomastia surgery generally involves ultrasound assisted liposuction. There is generally pain and swelling associated with this surgery (as with any surgeries). Most patients should be able to resume most normal activities within 5-7 days after this surgery. With more extensive procedures, there could be excessive swelling or seroma formation especially with too much activity after surgery. In general, I allow my patients to resume exercise when they are comfortable to do so, usually 2-3 weeks after the procedure. You should consult with your surgeon to determine when resuming exercise is appropriate.
