5 days after otoplasty abnormal antihelical fold? Complications with right ear. (photos)

Question

5 days post op my right ear developed a blood blister with clear liquid? My PS called it that, It was extremely uncomfortable due to wearing a headband 24/7. After 4-5 days PS and popped it, then it scabbed (which I have not seen anywhere Post op) 4 weeks out my fold is protruding and looks unnatural. My PS said its swollen but will subsided. No improvement yet only improvement are scabs fading. Other ear looks great swelling has gone down I'm worried I might need surgery again on my right ear?

I am sorry to hear about the problem you are experiencing.  Although impossible to predict for sure, it is very likely that the involved area will heal  over the course of the next few weeks.  I would be most concerned about the darkest area (on the helical rim),  but you may be pleasantly surprised (in the longer term) how good the area looks. It is very likely that additional surgery will not be necessary. Of course, this is one of those situations where time will tell. Continue close follow-up with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

You have had some skin necrosis, one of the reasons I now only use non-compressive headbands for sleeping only. This needs to heal and the resultant scars soften/mature for as long as a year or more before even considering the possibility of further surgery.
