I have metal pins along side of my femur bone. Is it safe for me to have Emsculpt?

Hi Rocketgirl,If the pins in your femur are truly metal then you should not have Emsculpt.  If they are titanium then and your orthopedic surgeon has said that it is okay for you to have MRI's then you should be able to have Emsculpt.  Be sure to discuss with your physician at your consultation.  Good luck and be well.Dr. P

Thank you for your question, as long as the metal pins are not within a treatment area you should be able to treat your abdomen and buttocks. However, I do recommend having an in-person evaluation with a board certified dermatologist to discuss where exactly the pins and how it would affect your results. 

Thanks for your question. You should definitely be OK for treating your abdominal muscles. The gluteal area may be more sensitive. I'd alert the doctor monitoring your treatment about it and proceed slowly. Best wishes

The pins are most likely titanium which are ok.  If you can have an MRI....the orthopedic surgeon did not tell you that you could not have an MRI in the future....you can have Emsculpt on your abdomen and butocks.

You need to find out what the pins are made of.
Titanium is generally what is used and titanium is not ferromagnetic.
But other metals would be an issue.
