How long will lip fillers last with 2 syringes of Juvederm filler? (Photo)

Question

Yesterday I got lip fillers injected into my lips, they are quite swollen and bruised and I feel like they sort of look like the “duck lips” I didn't want. Is this just the swelling? Another concern I had was that since I got two syringes if the fillers will last longer?

Thank you for your question.  1. Swelling is normal after any procedure.  If you are still experiencing swelling, I suggest you follow up with your doctor to look into the matter.  2.  Juvederm can last for 6 months but if you are unhappy with the results, speak to your doctor so you can achieve the look you want.  All the best!

Hi Kristen. Most doctors will start with one-syringe to avoid overfilling. Swelling and bruising can last 1 to 2 weeks after lip filler injections. To diminish the bruising, I recommend using LightStim LED or, in more significant cases, a vascular laser or IPL treatment. Arnica with Bromelain ("Arnika Forte") can also be taken to help speed up the healing. 
If you're unhappy with your results, you can also have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different filler and/or technique next time. If the bruising doesn't improve - or if you feel any pain - see your physician or an experienced cosmetic dermatologist for an evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

Swelling and bruising is common with lip fillers and typically resolves after two weeks.  Final results can be seen after that time and they will gradually fade as the product is metabolized over the next 6 to 9 months.  You can elect to have touch ups whenever you feel you need a little enhancement.

Thankyou for your question.You are definitely swollen and this  will take up to  2 weeks to settle. FYI : its recommended that you only have one syringe injected directly  into you lips in one sitting . Especially if  you are not looking for the over done look. If you are not happy in 2 weeks then some of the filler can be dissolved.Hope this helps

Good Morning, a lot of what you are seeing right now is swelling from the injection itself. You should give it at least two weeks for it all to settle. It should last a little longer since you got two syringes, but that varies depending on the type of filler and the person (some people metabolize the HA faster). Lip fillers last anywhere from 6 to 18 months! Good luck!
