Great Question! Yes, there is no contraindication to getting any HA filler (such as Voluma) after receiving a PMMA filler (specially so long ago). With that said, Voluma is not my 1st choice (or second or third) for marionette lines - You want to try a filler that is injected more superficially for those lines such as Juvederm Ultra, Ultra plus or vollure. There is a small change of an allergic reaction to Juvederm, but it is not very common. Juvederm is made out of Hyalouronic acid which already exist in your body so patients usually tolerated well. Now Juvederm usually comes mixed in with Lidocaine for patient comfort which some patients might be allergic too. Make sure to discuss with your doctor prior to injections. In patients that are afraid they might be allergic I usually apply a small amount in the skin first to see if there is any reaction and if there is not i proceed with the full treatment. Good luck!
