Dear rj143,Jumping one month after surgery should be fine, however I would recommend for you to take extra caution to avoid any injuries. In addition, you may or may not notice some swelling afterwards. Consult with your surgeon as he/she is the one that know your procedure best. Best regards,Nima Shemirani
Each surgeon has specific post op guidelines regarding when to resume full activity so you should check with your surgeon for details. Typically, you should be okay to resume activity such as jumping 1 month after surgery, but you may notice an increase in swelling afterwards. Be careful not to bump your nose.
Thank you for your question! It is rather difficult to fully evaluate your situation without an in-person exam. Most plastic surgeons would recommend staying away from physical exercise for about 4 weeks, so it's possibly that you may be ready to resume your physical activities such as jumping. However, you should consult your plastic surgeon because he or she has detailed knowledge of your situation. It's possible that, even at 4 months, jumping may exacerbate your post-op swelling. Also there might be some risk that you may accidentally hit your nose.An in-person exam with a board certified plastic surgeon is always the best way to fully assess your needs and address your concerns. Best of luck!
That should not affect greatly too much accept that you may notice some increased swelling at this time. Usually by 6 weeks you are good to do whatever you want, but on this you should ask your surgeon because nobody really knows what was done accept you and your surgeon. There may be situations that your surgeon would say for you to not be doing that right now, and none of us could possibly know that. Best of luck.
Recovering from rhinoplasty is a healing process. Part of that process is restricting yourself from strenuous activities that might potentially injure your nose before it is healed and strong. Most patients do a great job about protecting their nose. Accidental bumps rarely cause any injury. What I worry about is other people who are not aware of your healing nose. Sports and crowded events have the potential for someone to accidentally injure your nose. I would continue to avoid those places while healing. Talk with your surgeon so she/he can keep you on track for safe and happy result. Safety comes first.
Dear rj143, Jumping for joy hopefully regarding your new nose. I would want further details about what type of jumping and what sport you are participating in to decide whether I would approve it at four weeks post surgery. Speak with your surgeon to get approval on post operative activities. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
The best advice a month out is to do anything that does not hurt, avoid those things that cause you discomfort.
