Dear memyers1,Thank you for your question. Advil can increase bleeding during surgery and bruising during post operative healing. It is best to let your operating surgeon know that you took the Advil! Best of luck!
Hello,Thanks for your question. Taking the Advil does make you more likely to bleed during surgery. While the amount of surgical dissection for rhinoplasty is small, excess blood under the skin after surgery can leave can negatively affect the cosmetic outcome. I would discuss this with your surgeon to be safe.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Advil preparations contain ibuprofen which can decrease clotting and increase bleeding. Most of its effects are gone within a couple of days, but it may make your bruising worse and can extend the length of surgery since there may be more bleeding to control during the case. Discuss with your doctor ASAP.All the best,--DCPPearson Facial Plastic Surgery®
Advil can cause more bleeding and could complicate surgery. It is best to avoid this for 1 week or longer before surgery.
Advil worsens bleeding and bruising for 1-2 weeks. Be open and honest with your surgeon to discus a plan
I would not worry with just taking 2 Advil. Tell your doctor. It may make you a little more prone to bruising, but I doubt the doctor will recommend cancelling your surgery. I would not.
Thank you for your question. In general, most surgeons recommend avoiding non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Advil/ibuprofen for 1 week prior to surgery, as these medications may increase your risk of bleeding/bruising. I recommend letting your surgeon know but overall, the relative risks are fairly small for ibuprofen (higher for other medications such as aspirin, plavix, coumadin, etc.) Hope that helps, good luck!
It is a big deal! If you take an aspirin or Advil within a week so prior to surgery, you will definitely bleed more, swell more, make it more difficult for the surgeon to see fine details, take longer to heal and compromise your final result............be smart, don't take this chance!

It is best to follow instructions and leave splints, dressings, casts in place until removed by your surgeon. But once the cast falls off, you should not try to reapply it. Call your surgeon and see if he or she wants to reapply a splint. They know what...
I would not take anything without the advice of my primary care physician and surgeon. These supplements will not reduce the swelling anymore than time.
