I had EHit1 post RFA 11/2020. Can I safely do breast reduction/ lift and tummy tuck at once,? Two plastic surgeons say yes, the third says no (although the third did agree to breast with lipo). I've seen 2 Hematologists, one wants lovenox post op, the other said I don't need it. I really want l just do it all and get it over with. Help!
Answer: Breast reduction Dear barbybarb, breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. This way, my patients are achieving beautiful results with minimal incisions which reduces downtime and delivers an overall better breast shape long term.If you are considering breast reduction surgery, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breast reduction/lift & TT vs lipo after EHIT1 Certainly! Deciding between a breast reduction/lift with a tummy tuck (TT) versus liposuction after Extreme High-Intensity Training (EHIT1) involves considering several factors: Breast Reduction/Lift with TT: This combination is often chosen by individuals looking to address excess skin, sagging breasts, and abdominal concerns like loose skin or muscle separation (diastasis recti). It's a more comprehensive approach that can provide significant improvements to both the breasts and abdomen. Liposuction after EHIT1: Liposuction is effective for contouring areas with stubborn fat deposits that might not respond well to exercise, even after EHIT1. It's a less invasive option compared to a tummy tuck and could be suitable if you have isolated areas of excess fat without significant skin laxity or muscle concerns. Factors to consider when deciding between these options: Desired Results: If you're primarily concerned about excess skin, sagging breasts, and abdominal changes, a breast reduction/lift with a TT might be more suitable. Recovery: A breast reduction/lift with TT is a more extensive procedure and typically requires a longer recovery period compared to liposuction. Health Considerations: Your overall health and specific concerns, such as the degree of excess skin or muscle separation, will influence which procedure is more appropriate. It's crucial to have a detailed consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. They will evaluate your individual case, discuss your goals, explain the options thoroughly, and recommend the most suitable approach based on your unique anatomy and desired outcomes. Keep in mind that recovery time, expected results, and the extent of the procedures can vary significantly between these options, so it's essential to have a comprehensive discussion with your surgeon to make an informed decision.

Answer: Safety Safety is always the number one priority during surgery. Based on your medical history you will want to get clearance from your primary hematologist. After that you will want to select a board certified plastic surgeon with whom you feel comfortable and confident. Together you will decide if it is safe for you to undergo the procedures that interest you and what, if any, extra precautions are necessary.

Answer: Can you advise on breast reduction/lift & TT vs lipo after EHIT1? With a written hemo clearance I would still error on side of conservative nature. Thus I recommend separation of the 2 operations to be more safe.

Answer: Tummy tuck breast reduction combination Tummy tuck combined with breast surgery it’s a fairly common combination that must plastic surgeons do on a regular basis. I think you have confirmation of that from the doctors you spoke to. Longer operations do increase risk of complications including blood clots. Having two surgeries also has some drawbacks. Simply saying is having a tummy tuck and a breast deduction together okay is fairly simplistic and the question is out of context. Some patients have the need for more extensive surgery because of body shape and contour. Continue having in person consultations if you feel the need to have more opinions. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
