3 days post op-Swelling and painful ear after hematoma surgery. Do I have Perichondritis? (photo)

I was having an auricle hematoma and my dr used the button technique to apply good compression on the ear But now three day post operation and i still have pain and the antihilix is swelling. Do i got Perichondritis? Thanks

Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can playing rugby and also do other activities. I wish you all the best.

It’s unusual for the swelling to get worse 6 weeks after surgery, and it’s concerning that you’re experiencing a burning sensation. Please see your surgeon for an assessment.

3.5 weeks is still a bit early following surgery.  I usually at this point recommend that my patients apply a scar ointment and gentle massage.  You will have a better idea of how things are healing at 3-4 months following the procedure. I encourage you to contact your surgeon with...
