How effective is IPL or BBL and how many sessions and weeks apart should you have them?

I have blotchy skin with slight rosacea. I have had these treatments before but not sure how effective they are. I have open pores between my eyebrows and think that profractional laser would be better. My chest gets very red and blothchy when I drink. What would be recommended to stop or alleviate that? Thank you

IPL and BBL are both great options for patients who have concerned with rosacea and flushing. The treatment utilizes light waves to penetrate into the layers of skin and improve discolorations such as sun spots and broken capillaries. Skin tone and texture are enhanced in conjunction with evening out skin tone. Our rosacea patients notice less flushing and significant reduction of diffused redness compared to before IPL treatments.Many patients see benefits after just one treatment, however, for optimal benefit our office recommends at least 3-5 spread 1 month apart. Each patient is carefully analyzed regarding skin type, areas of concern and the settings are adjusted accordingly. IPL and BBL results are cumulative and can differ depending on patient and treatment frequency. A consultation is highly recommended to have a practitioner create an individualized treatment plan for you.

IPL is a great treatment to help eliminate sun damage, broken capillaries, and mild rosacea. I suggest having at least 4-5 sessions every 4-6 weeks apart to fully benefit from your treatments, always apply spf daily to prevent skin sensitivity to the sun

IPL or BBL are terrific treatments for rosacea, and for those people with general sun damage. It targets redness, blood vessels, and flat brown spots, and incidentally tightens the skin and makes it glow more. In a medical clinic with a physician on-site, it is incredibly safe. Typically treatments are every 3-4 weeks for 4-6 treatments, depending on your skin type and degree of sun damage.

IPL is extremely effective when done properly and by trained administrators. I often have people come to my office who have had IPL, and when we do a treatment they say: "ok, that is NOT what I had before." And it's because my staff does long treatments with good coverage with hundreds of pulses per treatment and on the proper settings. So, effectiveness depends on who is doing it and what type of machine is being used. Treatments are normally recommended every 3-4 weeks or so, for a series of 5 treatments. After that you should look to maintain your results with a treatment at least every 6 months, and good daily skincare products, including sunscreen.
