Hollowing after orbital decompression. Can anything be dome to improve this? (Photo)

Question

I’ve had 2 lateral decompression surgeries on my left eye, and I now have a very noticeable dent at the outer corner where bone is missing. Is there anything that can be done to improve this? Is it possible to put filler in this area? I’ve included a photo of my right eye as well just for comparison.

I think we could likely place a filler there, or create an orbital rim implant to go there to fill in that gap.  And, we could likely start with one and go to the other if you were happy.

In our experience over 20 years, we have met several patients that have had hollowing at the lateral canthus. We have had good results permanently filling in indentations with microdroplet Silikon-1000, a permanent soft tissue filler. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Likely, fat grafting of the area would significantly improve this deformity. In-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon with long experience in periorbital fat grafting is recommended. Good luck.
