Hi there! I’m 42 and have never had Botox. I have sensory issues and am hyper aware of little things in my body (spectrum). Would like to try botox but have concerns of how my forehead will feel or won’t feel. What does Botox feel like? I’m not concerned with needles just the sensation once the Botox is settled and working.
Answer: Understanding Botox Sensations As a neurotoxin, Botox prevents the release of neurotransmitters and affects the function of your facial muscles. This can feel a lot of different ways for different people. Many patients report a feeling of fullness or heaviness in the forehead—especially initially after treatment. While this feeling can last for some people, especially those who are particularly sensitive, many patients report that they adapt and actually feel relief in their forehead after a couple of days. Though it’s impossible to know exactly how Botox will feel for you, you can count on the effects fading with time. Typically, Botox lasts about 3–6 months, and if you’re unsure, you could request the lower strength with fewer units to reduce its longevity. We hope this helps and that you are able to find treatment that feels comfortable for you.

Answer: Sensory Issues If you try botox and you don't like the sensation or result, it will wear off after approximately 3 months. Sometimes, (but not in all cases) there is an adjustment period for a few days when it first takes effect. However, you could consider keeping the dose very light and have your injections done more frequently.
