I do this all the time and have definitely seen an improved result and decreased downtime from using PRP or Amniotic Membrane. I like Amniotic Membrane better for this indication because for the amount of solution you can administer it has more growth factors and it also contains Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid. It is the ideal agent to promote wound healing and has an anti inflammatory effect that I think is especially important when treating patients with or at risk for Melasma.
PRP can be easily combined with multiple procedures. If you are treating a patient with a fractionated laser modality, like Halo which has a Er:YAG component, you can easily drizzle PRP after the procedure and would potentially enhance the healing time and reduce the recovery time.
