It is very common for patients to try many different treatment modalities for their acne scars without significant enhancement. Acne scars are due to fibrous bands under the skin which pull down the epidermis (the top layer of skin) and connect them to subcutaneous tissue. Any modality which only focuses on the top layer of skin and doesn't address the fibrous bands would not provide you with the desired outcome. Taylor liberator, a subcision device, was invented at Gateway Laser & Aesthetics center. If the subcisions is done properly, should not cause scar for you since the treatment is happening under the skin. We only place one small opening at your hairline and then use the Taylor Liberator to go under skin instead of creating multiple opening to use with small needle to prerform the subcision. We have treated patients all across US, Canada & UK and would be happy to provide you with more information if you desire so. Yes, we just recently treated a patient with significant scar post childhood vaccination over anterior thigh with tumescent anesthesia and subcision. We specialize in acne scar treatment and have treat patients regularly from Canada, UK and across the US. Let us know if you need any further info. Regards,
Cellfina is an expensive form of subcision which works for deep and sharp dimples. Based on your picture, you don't have any of those dimple types. I recommend reading more about the process prior making any decision. You can benefit from Sculptra injection to enhance the mild unevenness in the buttock area, a process which is much cheaper and we perform on regular basis in Salt Lake city. Regards, Dr. Sotoodian
Melasma is a persistent disease, if you stop the medication, it may come back, discuss it with your family doctor or dermatologist. You may be able to reduce the frequency of topical application. Regards,
