Dry and swelling eyelids 5 months after double eyelid surgery. Can I go for a revision?

I had incision double eyelid surgery 5 months ago. Now my eye is swelling off and on. When it swells it gets very itchy and irritated. I don't know what to do. My incision is not comfortable and feels tight. What should I do? Can I go for a revision if this condition? My surgeon is not responding, please help

Based on your photo, your inner corner do not have excess epicanthal fold. In this case, converting from parallel to taper is not feasible but if you have excess epicanthal fold, this can be achieved quite easily. I suggest once healing takes place and you still do not like the size of crease...

Thanks for sharing your photos. Your right eye has mild ptosis which causes loose and wider crease compare to your left eye. This need to be corrected at the same time when you do create crease. Phenylephrine eye drop test will be helpful to achieve the symmetrical crease prior to actual surgery...

Asian eyelids can be very tricky to deal with especially with regard to the epicanthic folds.  It will require scars to correct the epicanthic folds which might be obvious or look unnatural.

Yes, It is usually easier to make smaller crease to larger one instead of the other way around. On your case, the difference between two crease is small and I believe you can have larger crease after releasing smaller one. As long as to determine whether you have enough skin or not you...

The asymmetry appears to be due to insufficient ptosis repair of the smaller eye.  You should follow up with your primary surgeon and a revision surgery is most likely warranted.  Best of luck!Goretti H. Taghva MD FACS
