I deeply regret having the surgery and miss my monolids and although the crease is already low I was wondering if I could lower it even more. I’m also unhappy about the scars which are more visible in person and on my left eye (right in the picture) the centre of my eyelid looks more puffy and swollen than the other eye. And on my other eye there is an excess of skin near the inner corner. I added photos where I’m wearing eyeshadow which makes the scars and the other issues more visible and clear.
Answer: Regret after eyelid surgery I am sorry about your result. Instead of returning to monolid condition, I recommend to improve your current crease shape. It is not double eyelid crease to make it look unnatural but overall balance of your eyes are broken. first of all, your crease start away from the inner corner which makes unnatural look. Also, you have partial ptosis especially on left eye which makes look unbalanced. I believe you can have much more balanced eye and I suggest to get additional consultation.Thanks,Dr.Choi

Answer: Challenging to lower crease...however Based on your photos, the crease location is appropriate. Based on the photos, the inner corner of the eyelids seem to have some excess skin that could be removed to crease a more consistent crease across the eyelid. However, you do seem to have mild eyelid ptosis (droopy eyelids). If you do not want to have any eyelid platform showing (the space from the lashes to the fold of skin) then it is possible to correct eyelid ptosis which would create a more prominent fold to hide your tarsal platform. There is no way to take you back to a monolid in an aesthetic fashion. As far as your scars go, they will improve with time, and they really aren't visible unless you close your eyelids, so it shouldn't be much of a concern. If you consider revision, you need to seek an experienced Oculoplastics surgeon that has revision Asian Blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery) experience. Wait at least 6 months between revisions.

Answer: Asian eyelids Asian eyelid surgery can be tricky when there is a prominent inner canthus fold as in your case. I’d be curious to know how long after surgery you are. You may just need to wait fir the scars to improve. I don’t think the scar needs to be lowered any.

Answer: Can I lower my Asian eyelid crease and open the epicanthal fold? Morning,Thank you for these photos. Unfortunately, at your age with your anatomy the answer is no. Also, if you want to open the inner aspect of the fold (epicanthal fold) it will show your crease a bit more, so you couldn't change the inner fold and lower the crease. These maneuvers compete against one another.I perform Asian eyelid surgery daily and a lot of revisions from around the world and many surgeons will tell you they can make the changes that you're requesting. They can't.But, on the bright side, it's still a lower subtle crease. Give it time and you'll look a bit like your former self. My advice is just leave it alone. Maybe revisit the possibility of a revision in a few years if not more.Chase Lay MD

Answer: Scarring and double lid hi,based on your pictures, your height of the double fold is very small. too make the height even smaller, you will need time and aging to get more skin available to bring down the double lids. as for your scar, a revision can be done to make a cleaner line now but your fold may appear bigger. hope this helps.dr david kahng
