How much Botox would be recommended for my chin?

I am curious to know recommendations on number of units to try in my chin for Botox. I have read some horror stories and am a little nervous to get chin Botox but my injector is recommending I do 20 units. I would just like to hear some other opinions as well..

20u for just the chin (mentalis) seems quite extreme... but that's asusming you're talking botox units; if it's dysport units, that could be a little more reasonable. I would clarify which type you are doing but also with botox, you can definitely overdo it and then have to wait for it to wear off... whereas oyu could also always do less and then add more. my rec is always start low, add more if you need more later. so for something like this, I'd probably start you around 3-6u and then add more based on how your body responds.

It's important to find an experienced injector.   20 units in my opinion is a lot.   I would ask the injector how long they have been injecting Botox.   Botox in the chin is relatively straightforward as long as they know the anatomy and stay in the safe area.   Please watch the attached video for more information.

I am a big proponent for injecting by the site vs.  units for this very concern. Focusing on an area allows the injector to place just the right number of units to get you the results necessary without overdoing anything. And if you don't have complete correction in 2-3 weeks come back and add more at no cost. This system keeps everyone honest and hugely lowers the chances for problems.  
Now, for the orange peel area of the chin specifically, I think 10 units should do it, unless the injector needs to go into the DAOs, which from your photo doesn't appear to be the case.

This is very common and is called Peau d’orange or chin dimpling and is caused by strain of the mentalis muscle that help with lip competence.  Typically about 10 units of botox are needed.

Your injector’s recommendation of 20 units isn’t unusual, especially if they’ve assessed that the muscle is quite active or if you have noticeable dimpling. If you’re still nervous, you could discuss starting with a slightly lower dose and reassessing at two weeks.

Chin botox is a great treatment for chin dimpling! As a first timer being injected with chin botox, I would not exceed 10 units, to allow you to get used to the feeling of chin botox but also to ensure that you like the results. The good thing is that it will wear off and is not permanent, just ensure that your injector is knowledgeable on anatomy and you should have a great result!
