I am curious to know recommendations on number of units to try in my chin for Botox. I have read some horror stories and am a little nervous to get chin Botox but my injector is recommending I do 20 units. I would just like to hear some other opinions as well..
Answer: Chin I would suggest starting with 5 units, and then 5 at a time every 2 weeks until you like the effect. Using 20 units at one time might make your lower lip too weak. In that area, I find 5 units works very well in most patients.

Answer: How Many Units of Botox Are Recommended for Chin Treatment? When considering Botox for the chin, the number of units required can vary based on individual anatomy and desired outcomes. Generally, Botox in the chin is used to address issues such as dimpling or a "pebbled" appearance, often caused by overactive mentalis muscles. Here are some considerations: Common Dosage Range: Typically, the amount of Botox used for the chin ranges from 4 to 10 units. However, your injector's recommendation of 20 units might be based on their assessment of your specific needs. Factors Influencing Dosage: Muscle Strength: The strength and activity level of the mentalis muscle can affect the required dosage. Stronger muscles may need more units for optimal relaxation. Desired Effect: The extent of the change you wish to achieve can also determine how many units are appropriate. Consult with Experienced Professionals: It’s crucial to have an open discussion with your injector about your concerns and goals. They can provide insights into why they recommended a specific dosage based on your anatomy and desired results. Start Conservatively: If you are nervous about the procedure, you might consider starting with a lower dose and then adjusting in future treatments based on results and satisfaction. Potential Side Effects: Discuss potential side effects and what to expect post-treatment with your injector, which can help manage anxiety and set realistic expectations. Remember, each patient's needs are unique, and the best approach is personalized. A qualified and experienced injector will tailor the treatment to achieve the best possible outcome while minimizing risks.

Answer: Chin Tox When it comes to Botox in the chin area (often targeting the mentalis muscle), dosing can vary depending on how strong the muscle is and the specific aesthetic or functional concerns. Generally, anywhere from 10 to 20 units is within a typical range. • Assessing the muscle: An in-person evaluation helps your injector gauge the size and strength of your mentalis muscle. If it’s overactive (causing dimpling or a “pebbly” chin), slightly higher units may be recommended to smooth it out. • First-time approach: For someone who’s never had chin Botox before, a conservative approach is often a good idea—start on the lower end of the recommended range. You can always adjust during future treatments if more (or fewer) units are needed. At Refine by Tulsi, we always start lower and then optimize as needed after the 2 week period. Your injector’s recommendation of 20 units isn’t unusual, especially if they’ve assessed that the muscle is quite active or if you have noticeable dimpling. If you’re still nervous, you could discuss starting with a slightly lower dose and reassessing at two weeks.

Answer: Botox 20u for just the chin (mentalis) seems quite extreme... but that's asusming you're talking botox units; if it's dysport units, that could be a little more reasonable. I would clarify which type you are doing but also with botox, you can definitely overdo it and then have to wait for it to wear off... whereas oyu could also always do less and then add more. my rec is always start low, add more if you need more later. so for something like this, I'd probably start you around 3-6u and then add more based on how your body responds.

Answer: Botox for the chin (peau d'orange) 5 units is enough It's important to find an experienced injector. 20 units in my opinion is a lot. I would ask the injector how long they have been injecting Botox. Botox in the chin is relatively straightforward as long as they know the anatomy and stay in the safe area. Please watch the attached video for more information.
