Want to get dermal filler in the under eye area, will it make Xanthelasma worse? (photos)

I currently have Xanthelasma under both of my eyes. They're relatively small patches. I want to get dermal filler in the under eye area, my question is will it make the Xanthelasma worse?

The xanthelasmas won't be worsened by filler treatment. However, when the filler elevates them, they may appear more prominent. I have personally been treating xanthelasmas for decades using light electrocautery. This treatment not only shrinks the xanthelasmas, but tightens the surrounding normal skin as the xanethelasma shrinks. So, it would be more prudent to first eliminate the xanethelasmas in this fashion and only afterward, once healing has taken place, use the appropriate HA fillers to improve what remains of the tear troughs and bags.  Just make sure that you consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and not just any venue hawking the supposedly "latest and greatest," expensive fraxel laser or RF device it just purchased.
