Can filler be placed right under the mouth to eliminate perioral fat pockets due to chin recession? (photo)

My chin doesn't go outwards as much as it should so I recently has 1 syringe of filler at the tip of the chin. The only problem is it made the fat pockets under my mouth look worse (it looks worse in-person). I was wondering if any injectors have ever put filler in the lower perioral area to correct this?

The encircled area--the linear horizontal depression between the lower lip and the upper chin in the photo is called the labial-mental furrow or simply "mental crease." For experienced injectors, this is a commonly treated area. And elevating and smoothing this area more should achieve greater harmony between the projections of the lips and the chin in both front-face and profile views. Just make sure that you consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.

Yes, Putting a filler in this area can make that crease less deep and can also elongate your chin. This is some  of my patients favorite place to be injected.
