What is the normal post-operative follow-up care with your surgeon?

The day I had my surgery, he gave me two appointments. One was 7 days later, and the other appointment is 15 weeks later. My surgery was 9/23rd. I saw the dr. on 9/30th and do not see him again until January 6th (15 weeks post surgery).

All surgeons have a different approach to follow up care after surgery. In my practice, a post liposuction patient will typically be seen at 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks.

Thank you for your question. All doctors will have their preferred ways of following up.In our clinic we did a study to look at surgery outcomes and number of follow up  appointments required.  It showed that 5 follow up appointments 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-operatively was adequate for people with normal recovery. Wounds care, lymphatic drainage massage, machine derived therapies to help skin retraction and resolution of swelling and compression adjustments were done during the first 4 visits and last one was used for scars and contours assessment.An additional 2 appointments were required for people with problems like seromas etc.I am sure you surgeon will be happy to see you if there are any issues.See the web reference link for a more detailed response to your question.
