Thank you for the question. Expired fillers should not be used, but probably is not the cause of your poor results. You probably need additional filler or a different product to be used. See your injector or get the opinion of another experienced expert injector. Good luck.
I hope that there are no doctors out there injecting expired cosmetic products! Likely, you will require more Juvederm to be injected to see the results you are hoping to achieve. Make sure that your doctor is board certified and has comfortable injecting the areas you want improved. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Plastic surgeon's in the US would not use an expired product. That said, if it were a product that was used beyond it's expiration date, the filler would work exactly the same. It does not become less effective over time.It would be easy to check. Next time you are in your surgeons office, look at the product information sticker that is in your chart. The expiration date will be noted there. As suggested by the other physician responses, perhaps you now will require more product than in the past.Thank you,Jefrey Fishman, MD, FACS
Hi abow, thank you for your question. It is not recommended to use expired fillers. It may be that it was not enough product to see improvement. Visit with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get a full face evaluation. Best of luck.
While expired product injection is strongly discouraged, short term appearance probably more related to the technique and volume of what was injected
Hi cookiedough4,It is very normal to still be swollen at this point. Give the product 2 weeks until you decide if you love it or hate it. One side may swell more than the other. I suggest following up with the injector in 2 weeks to do any touch ups, if necessary. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question. At this point, residual bruising should have subsided. I recommend scheduling a follow-up with your injector to determine the cause of the discoloration and treatments that might be used to address it.
I wouldn't beat yourself up about this too much. It will likely be totally fine. Our restrictions on fillers and pregnancy/ breast feeding are not because the products are known to be harmful. Rather, studies have not been done on pregnant and breastfeeding women (that study will never be done)...
