Got Juvederm and still breastfeed.

Question

I feel horrible but I didn't even think about it until after I received Juvederm for my lips (Fillers). My child is going on 15 months and still breastfeeds at night. I really don't want to stop and would prefer she wean herself when ready. Again, I fell Horrible.

I wouldn't beat yourself up about this too much. It will likely be totally fine. Our restrictions on fillers and pregnancy/ breast feeding are not because the products are known to be harmful. Rather, studies have not been done on pregnant and breastfeeding women (that study will never be done) to prove that fillers are safe. You shouldn't need to stop breastfeeding, but you might want to express and discard the breast milk for some hours after the procedure.  Check with your pediatrician, but once the anesthetic in the Juvederm is metabolized and you have expressed, you should be fine.
