Advice on nasolabial folds/smile lines please for a 20 year old (Photo)

Question

i know that there are so many factors that cause them,i am blaming genetics.. or could there possibly be something wrong w me that its happening to me at this age? what would you suggest for me? i don't understand why the tissue on my nose is disappearing little by little, and the lines are becoming deeper and stretching all the way past my lips.. (i can also feel it inside my cheeks, where the lines end) is it too early to think fillers? what should i do??thank you in advance.

Without examining you or seeing full facial photos it is difficult to be certain what is causing your early lines. If you really feel that tissue on your nose is contracting you may have an undiagnosed connective tissue disease like Perry-Romberg syndrome. This may happen due to genetics but may also be due to significant weightless, sun damage or smoking. If you have any health concerns, discuss with your doctor but if you wish to diminish the appearance of the folds, you can try soft tissue fillers.

We are all too tuned into TV commercials. Having nasolabial folds, to some extent, is a normal part of facial anatomy. Facial structure does vary some with ethnicity. It is only when these deepen that we get concerned with this being a sign of aging. Sometimes weight loss can make these more prominent. That being said, if these bother you, a little soft HA filler should relax them and make you happier.

you can try 2 syringes of HA fillers to NL folds to see if you obtain any improvement. Otherwise I might offer you a Silhouette Lift (mid face lift). But you are quite young. Only in person consultations would help....

Hi, based upon the attached photos your cheeks are very flat anteriorly (in the front) which allows the facial tissues to sag inwards towards the nose and mouth at a very young age.  While fillers can be used to augment and shape the cheeks (I prefer Perlane) you're young which means years of getting that filler.  Cheek augmentation, with cheek implants, can give permanent cheek shape that will add volume to the area (just like it was your own cheek bone) that will help support (not lift but support) the facial tissues over the cheeks making them less prone to sagging.  IMHO this isn't a volume loss at 20 years of age but rather a genetic lack of cheek bone shape from the beginning (in other words you never had a full, round cheek bone).  Hope this helps.
