Potential causes for volume loss in the upper cheeks? They are quite deep and visible in nearly every light (I am only 20). I first noticed them about 4 years ago. I lost weight at 12 due to illness, but have since put that back on, and the dents weren't visible at then. Can braces cause this? Too much sun or sugar? Hormonal imbalance? Lack of exercise? None of my family seem to have these marks either. If I were to lose ten kilos over four months now, would that further accentuate the issue?

Answer: Cheek Augmentation With Fillers, Fat, Sculptra, Implants ; Cheek volume loss can be treated!
It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thanks for your question and photographs. Your asymmetry is quite mild but if it bothers you then the only non surgical way to address it is with dermal filler injections. Arrange a consultation with a fully qualified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
