Good afternoon, in two weeks out from my breast augmentation and I’m pretty nervous. I’m aware I have grade 2 sag and that getting the implant w/o lift is not ideal but I don’t feel my nipple position is that bad but would like some insight. I’m also nervous about what size to get. I tried on 260cc in office and liked the way they looked in my bra but I hardly see anyone with that small of an implant. I’m 5”3 150 athletic build. I’ve always been small chested and don’t want to be too big.
Answer: Size and Shape You are borderline for a lift. The implant size depends on the width of the breast as well as your own personal taste. If a lift is desired, one can be done simply around the areola so incisions are well hidden.

Answer: Breast augmentation and lift? Hello, thank you for your question. This is a very common question, of course Ideally we like to avoid the surgical scars of a breast lift when possible. However sometimes depending on your wish pics you may just need to feel happy about your breast implant. Be sure to bring your wish pics in and see what you like and how to get there with the implant or maybe a lift is really what you like. Speak to your plastic surgeon about your concerns and they can examine and assess your breast tissue.

Answer: Breast lift Thanks for your question! I do think someone like you would absolutely benefit from a lift. Some patients can get around it depending on their breast tissue and the size of the implant, but I wouldn't be surprised if you are back for a lift at some point. Good luck!

Answer: Implants I think the size you have selected will work nicely for you and fit your frame and tissue. You might want to reconsider and get the lift.

Answer: Implant size and breast lift Dear Happymama12, determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
