i have some excess fat that’s half an inch above my jawline. would it be safe to use liposuction to remove it? If I were to draw a line from the bottom of my ear it would just be below that line and not too high up.
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Not Standard Liposuction in this area is possible but is not standard. This is due to the marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve running in this area, which is at risk during these procedures for neuropraxia or permanent injury. If this is something you choose to pursue, make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon who does these procedures regularly.

Answer: Liposuction above the jawline Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of excess fat from various parts of the body using a suction device. While liposuction is generally considered safe, there are risks associated with any surgical procedure, and it is important to carefully consider whether it is the right option for you. Removing fat from the area half an inch above your jawline using liposuction is possible, but it is important to note that the jawline is a delicate area, and the skin in this area is relatively thin. Therefore, it is important to choose a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon who has expertise in performing facial liposuction. In some cases, facial liposuction may not be the most appropriate option for removing excess fat in this area. Depending on the location and amount of excess fat, non-surgical treatments such as Kybella or CoolSculpting may be recommended instead. Before deciding on any treatment, it is important to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. During the consultation, the surgeon can evaluate your individual anatomy and recommend the most appropriate treatment options for achieving your desired results. They can also discuss the potential risks and benefits of liposuction and non-surgical treatments and help you make an informed decision about which option is best for you. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Facial liposuction I suggest including pictures for a reference if you want an accurate assessment. Some plastic surgeons will do facial Liposuction, while others will avoid it because of the risk of facial nerve injury. The marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve process, the mandible and becomes superficial. This nerve is at risk for being damaged when doing Liposuction above the jawline. Some people are good candidates for Liposuction, and others are not. There are a lot of variables that contributed to facial contour. A lot of facial contour issues are more related to bone structure and age has a significant impact on facial aesthetics as well. We need far better information to give you any use recommendations. I suggest having multiple inperson consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
