Earlobe repair is a common procedure in our plastic surgery office. I employ a technique that involves removing the excess scar tissue and reapproximating the tissue planes in multiple layers to recontour the earlobe after gauges, torn earlobes, or stretched out earlobes. Sometimes, the same procedure is used to restore contour to a pixie ear after facelift surgery or facial surgery. Gauge correction is a popular treatment. Insurance typically does not cover the procedure in California, but it all depends on your insurance policy. Costs are typically between six hundred dollars and one thousand dollars depending on the complexity of the repair. Pixie ear repair involves correction of the facelift flap and is a more complex procedure that requires anesthesia. Aftercare for earlobe repair involves proper wound care, Plato’s Scar Serum at least twice daily, with repiercing of the earlobe if requested, in 6 weeks. It is best to have a plastic surgeon perform the procedure and help with scars in the post-procedure period. Plato’s Scar Serum, wound care, and Neosporin are used. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
Thanks for your inquiry about ear lobe repair. This operation can be done under local anesthetic without significant downtime. I'd suggest contacting local surgeons to get a sense of the cost, because the price will vary widely depending on the region and the surgeon.
Hello,This is a common problem from both heavy earring and ear gauges and can often be repaired comfortably under local anesthesia in the office in a 30-45 minutes procedure. The healed edges are removed and the freshly cut edges are sewn back together and allowed to heal. After about 2-3 month you can re-pierce your ears but I advise doing this right next to and not directly on the previous scar. Cost can vary depending on region and speciality but I would expect $650 to $1000 for both ears with your degree of stretching.Best of Luck!Dr. Rednam
Repairing your stretched earlobe piercings is straightforward, is performed awake using a local anesthetic, and is virtually painless. Here in Seattle we perform lots of these earlobe repairs. We charge $550 per earlobe for cases such as yours. Price will fluctuate depending on location and surgeon. For larger "gauged" or stretched earlobes we charge more as the procedure is more complex.Best of luck to you!
Good day and thank you for your inquiry. The cost of surgery varies greatly from Plastic Surgeon and area. For example in Montreal Canada at my private practise the cost for earlobe repair is between 1500 to 2000$ + tax (one or both ears). I suggest you contact multiple board certified plastic surgeons in your area and compare costs and experience before setting your mind on one. Best of Luck !
Your problem is certainly not uncommon. The repair can be done in the office under local anesthesia. Cost will depend on where you live, but we charge anywhere from $250-$1200 depending on the complexity of the repair and whether its one or both ears. Good luck!
The repair of the torn or stretched ear lobe is a great procedure that can restore the ear lobe to a “normal” appearance". Care must be taken during this procedure to avoid reducing the size of the ear and/or creating a notch/ depressed appearance in the area of the rim of the ear lobe. It is usually done under local anesthesia with very high patient satisfaction rates. Costs of surgery range from $500-$1000 for both ears, in our practice. Best wishes.
Earlobes can be repaired under local anesthesia in the office to fix a complete tear, or to correct a stretched out hole from earrings. The hole or scar edges are removed and then the earlobe is sutured back together. Ears can be repierced in about 2 months. Patients love getting to wear earrings again and feel complete. Cost is about $650 per ear.
Stretched or completely split earlobes are something we see commonly in our practice. Fortunately this is something that it straight forward to repair. The procedure is performed in office under local anesthesia and both earlobes can be fixed in under an hour. The surgery involves recreating fresh wound edges that are then stitched together along both the anterior and posterior surface of the earlobe. You will completely lose the piercing holes but repiercing can be performed about 8 weeks postoperatively. The cost of this procedure will depend on your provider, the number of repairs/ear and whether one or both lobes are involved. Most offices that perform this procedure can give you a treatment quote over the phone. In our office the cost of the procedure includes repiercing once healing is complete.
i think for both earlobes you should expect to pay between $900-1,300. It should take a plastic surgeon about 45 minutes to do both and you can return to work immediately. you should have little to no pain afterwards. You can re-pierce your earlobes 6 weeks later.david berman md
